Our mission is to encourage everyone to take on the world by promoting inclusivity, activism, and the spirit of a challenger. It informs all we do as we attempt to improve the issues that matter most to us. ​

 

Seaplane Hong Kong is committed to serving our local communities and fostering global citizenship in our expansion plans. We will be part of the solution in addressing issues such as climate change, poverty, hunger, health, quality education, and equalities. In support of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including 17 bold Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).​

Eradicating poverty in all its forms remains one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. While the number of people living in extreme poverty dropped by more than half between 1990 and 2015, too many are still struggling for the most basic human needs.

Seaplane Hong Kong is committed to:

  • Develop local eco-tourism in developing nations such as the Philippines, creating new industries, tourism demands, promoting local cultures and local employments.

  • Connecting remote area, where small villages, communities and business can flourish by offering affordable transportation and logistical solutions with electric seaplanes.

  • Sources and hire locally if possible.

  • Developing infrastructure to help vulnerable communities to cope with climate change and natural disaster, working in partnership with local universities to educate and produce saline-tolerant rice, build floating vegetable gardens and grow fruit and pulses, training in livestock-rearing, such as raising ducks establishing fisheries, including cage aquaculture and crab fattening instead of deforestation for farming.

The world has made great progress against several leading causes of death and disease. Life expectancy has increased dramatically; infant and maternal mortality rates have declined.

  • Working in partnership with local hospitals to offering urgent emergency medical evacuation to reduce the mortality rate in remote areas.

  • Heavily subsidised fare for expected mothers to encourage birth at public hospital to reduce maternal mortality rates

Achieving inclusive and quality education for all reaffirms the belief that education is one of the most powerful and proven vehicles for sustainable development. It also aims to provide equal access to affordable vocational training, eliminate gender and wealth disparities, and achieve universal access to a quality higher education.

Seaplane Hong Kong is committed to:

  • Working in partnership with vocational education institutions to offer apprentice programmes, non-traditional routes to engineering, pilot, etc.

  • Promoting the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in partnership with local schools and universities, using real industry experiences and work opportunities to encourage young people to aim high and achieve.

Ending all discrimination against women and girls is not only a basic human right, it’s crucial for a sustainable future; it’s proven that empowering women and girls helps economic growth and development.

  • Strict rules and regulations to protect women against physical and/or sexual violence, human trafficking

Over the past 25 years, the number of workers living in extreme poverty has declined dramatically, despite the lasting impact of the Covid 19 pandemic and global recession.

 

In developing countries, the middle class now makes up more than 34 per cent of total employment – a number that has almost tripled between 1991 and 2015. However, as the global economy continues to recover we are seeing slower growth, widening inequalities, and not enough jobs to keep up with a growing labour force.

Seaplane Hong Kong is committed to:

  • Creating high tech employment and hire locally 

  • Providing our workforce with tools, training and education for upward social mobility

  • Sources with local suppliers to meet our operational needs, procurement based on socio-economic impact assessment on the tourism sector and its supply chain rather than purely on price

  • Define new development approaches that are based on an improved balance between economic prosperity and conservation of natural resources

  • Allocate a percentage of revenue on reducing trash in the ocean and aid in creating a pristine island for sustainable eco-tourism

Investment in infrastructure and innovation are crucial drivers of economic growth and development. With over half the world population now living in cities, mass transport and renewable energy are becoming ever more important, as are the growth of new industries and information and communication technologies.

Seaplane Hong Kong is committed to:

  • Reducing inner-city congestion with UAM to increase businesses productivity

  • Building Skyport - a public Water Aerodrome facilities opened to public use

  • Introducing the use of electric Seaplane to connect remote communities

  • Creating the world first UAM passengers lines offering environmental eco-friendly mass transportation services

  • Researching and sharing technological progress is also key to finding lasting solutions to both economic and environmental challenges

  • Promoting energy efficiency, starting with our Skyport

  • Bridging this digital divide is crucial to ensure equal access to information and knowledge, as well as foster innovation and entrepreneurship.  

  • Investing in scientific research and innovation on future technology such as fuel cell, electric aircraft powerplants

  • Facilitate sustainable development with our community education programmes

  • Offering affordable eco-friendly logistic to assist local agricultural products to undergo industrial processing in developing nations

  • Investment in renewable energy sectors, by 2030 all our aircraft will be powered by renewable sources.

Income inequality is on the rise—the richest 10 per cent have up to 40 per cent of global income whereas the poorest 10 per cent earn only between 2 to 7 per cent. If we take into account population growth inequality in developing countries, inequality has increased by 11 per cent.

There is no country that is not experiencing the drastic effects of climate change. Greenhouse gas emissions are more than 50 percent higher than in 1990. Global warming is causing long-lasting changes to our climate system, which threatens irreversible consequences if we do not act.

 

The annual average economic losses from climate-related disasters are in the hundreds of billions of dollars. This is not to mention the human impact of geo-physical disasters, which are 91 percent climate-related, and which between 1998 and 2017 killed 1.3 million people, and left 4.4 billion injured. The goal aims to mobilize US$100 billion annually by 2020 to address the needs of developing countries to both adapt to climate change and invest in low-carbon development.

 

Supporting vulnerable regions will directly contribute not only to Goal 13 but also to the other SDGs. These actions must also go hand in hand with efforts to integrate disaster risk measures, sustainable natural resource management, and human security into national development strategies. It is still possible, with strong political will, increased investment, and using existing technology, to limit the increase in global mean temperature to two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, aiming at 1.5°C, but this requires urgent and ambitious collective action.

  • Introducing the latest environmental technology such as UAM and electric seaplane to reduce our carbon footprint without changing our lifestyle significantly

  • Bold climate action could trigger at least US$26 trillion in economic benefits by 2030, we are keen to invest heavily in sustainable eco-tourism, technology and sustainable energy

  • Assisting cities and government around the world to reach net-zero around 2050 by research, develop and implement the latest technology in transportation and development.
